Affiliate Forum

IHTSDO is keen to support and enable broader and better use of SNOMED CT around the world. To this end, the concept of an Affiliate Forum was outlined in the organization's Articles of Association. The Forum is intended to bring together users of SNOMED CT from around the world - a diverse and representative community of vendors, implementers, and other Affiliate License holders - to exchange views, share experiences, and provide advice to the IHTSDO on how best to support those who are implementing SNOMED CT. In 2008, a number of Affiliates have been asked about their information needs. Their advice was considered in the design of the Forum and served as key input in the development of specifications for an on-line forum for exchange of information among Affiliates. We would like to thank all those who worked with us as part of this pilot testing process.

The Affiliate Forum was launched at the October 2008 IHTSDO Community of Practice Meetings. At that time, it was suggested that the Collaborative Space should be the jey communications vehicle for the Affiliate Forum. Accordingly, more information about the Affiliate forum and its activities is available there. Introductory information on the Affiliate Forum can also be found in the IHTSDO FAQ

Marc Horowitz is the Chair of the Affiliate Forum.
